Hello there! The sun is shining after a LONG winter, the days are growing longer and warmer. The chaos that comes every May with sports and school events has set in. Its safe to say most moms are either full or excitement or impending dread for the quickly approaching summer break.
Have no fear, your ultimate guide is here! Come along with me as we prepare to THRIVE instead of just SURVIVE during summer break.
The very first step in preparing for summer is to look at the big picture. Close your eyes and think about what you want your summer to look like. What do you see yourself doing with your kids? What places do you want to go? Do you have any learning goals you want to set? As you ask yourself these questions your answers will evolve into your SUMMER BUCKET LIST!
Create a list to use as a framework for planning your summer. It will act as a boredom buster and a positive tool your kids can look forward to. You can just throw our random ideas on paper or you can organize your thoughts by category. As I planned our Summer Bucket List I broke it down into the following categories:
*Places to Go
*Time to Learn
*Treats to Eat
You can plan as much or as little as you like but try to be realistic about how much you can, want and need to do. Don’t overdo it. Kids still need plenty of time to just BE during their summer break.
Here is the list I created for our summer break. I’m sure we will do other things and we may not accomplish every single item but at least there’s a plan. A plan equals intention and intention equals less chaos 😊
Do you have a Summer Bucket List Ready? What are your must-dos for summer break? Please leave a comment and tell us your ideas!
